Hi, I’m Dr. Jamey Cunningham a minister, Utah wedding officiant, and the founder of Mission of Love & Light. Since 2017, I’ve had the honor of officiating weddings for couples from every walk of life: long-distance partners, military couples, same-sex couples, private elopements, and couples who simply wanted a meaningful ceremony without the stress of a traditional wedding.
I believe marriage is both a legal commitment and a sacred moment and no matter where you are in the world, your ceremony should still feel personal, heartfelt, and unforgettable.
WHY I CREATED ONLINE WEDDING VOWS
Since 2017, I’ve met countless couples who were ready to be married, but life didn’t fit the traditional wedding timeline. Some were separated by countries, some by deployment, some by urgent family or immigration circumstances, and many just didn’t want the expense or pressure of a big event.
I built Online Wedding Vows so those couples could still have a fully legal wedding and a ceremony experience that feels warm, human, and real without delay, without stress, and without losing the heart of the moment.
Why Utah Matters For Legal
Online Marriage
Utah is the gold standard for legal online weddings. Utah County allows couples to apply for a marriage license online and complete a remote-appearance ceremony by secure video. There are no residency requirements — couples can be anywhere in the world.
Here’s the key legal point:
For a Utah County online marriage license to be legally valid, your officiant must be physically located in Utah during the ceremony. The officiant’s location becomes the legal “host location” that establishes the Utah jurisdiction for your marriage. Utah County Gov.

Is This Really Legal?
Yes. Utah County issues online marriage licenses and allows remote-appearance ceremonies by video. The legal requirement is that your officiant must be physically located in Utah during the ceremony and at least two adult witnesses attend by video.
